Quick & easy Philly Cheesesteaks! Great for a busy night. Accompanied by onion rings and a Rouge Honey Kolsch.
Ingredients:
– Deli sliced roast beef (of course use fresh shaved roast beef if you have the time)
– 1 large yellow onion
– 1 green bell pepper & 1 red bell pepper
– Sliced mushrooms
– Your choice of cheese (provolone is best but I used Colby jack and American)
– 4-6 hoagie/sandwich rolls
– Favorite steak seasoning (I used Kinders garlic)
– Salt, pepper & garlic powder
Recipe (makes 4-6 sandwiches):
– Prep all the ingredients. Rough chop the roast beef. Thinly slice onion into half circle wedges. Cut peppers into 2 inch strips. Slice mushrooms if not pre-sliced.
– Turn one side of the griddle to medium low heat. Turn the other side on low.
– Apply a thin layer of oil.
– Cook the veggies first until they begin to cook down. Season with salt, pepper, garlic and the steak seasoning.
– Move the veggies to the low heat side of grill. If too hot turn off completely.
– Add the roast beef to the medium low side of griddle. Season with steak seasoning.
– Cook until meat starts to brown.
– Combine the veggies and meat. Continue to cook 1-2 more minutes.
– Turn all burners down to low.
– Split the beef/veggie blend into 4-6 equal servings.
– Add your preferred cheese and melt. Use a dime to melt cheese faster.
– While cheese melts, toast both sides of hoagie roles in a thin layer of oil.
– Top half the roll with beef/veggie/cheese mix and top with other roll.
– ENJOY!! Don’t forget to clean and prep your cooktop!
